Mariam’s work has been exhibited in Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, India, Japan and China. Her photographs have also been selected for the 2010 Angkor Photo Festival, Tbilisi Photo Festival, and the 2011 “Chobi Mela” Festival. 2012 Aleppo International Photo Festival, and Les Rencontres d'Arles.
In 2010 Amurvelashvili was selected to participate in a young photographers’ artist-in-residence program in Niort, (France). In 2011 she was shortlisted for the Lucie Foundation Scholarship. In 2008, Amurvelashvili won first prize in KARAT Coalition’s photo competition and exhibition, “Through Their Eyes, Through Ours.”, in 2013 she won OSI (Open society Institute) documentary photography grant.
Her first photobook “Endless Questions” was published by Italian publisher “Damiani” in 2016. In 2018 she self-published her second photobook “Another memory”. In 2018 -2019 she exhibited her work at Tbilisi photo festival and ”Kolga” Tbilisi photo”. In 2019 was nominee of “International photography grant” In 2021 she was shortlisted for Bartur photo award and won Tbilisi photography and multimedia museum grant and residency.
